Step into the history of legendary motorsport endurance and track engineering with the vintage Hot Wheels Ford GT-40. Holding a highly coveted, nostalgic anchor position as car #7/10 within the classic 2003 Track Aces mini-series (collector #173/250), this premium 1:64 scale imported diecast vehicle honors the iconic MkI body architecture that paved the way for American dominance over Europe’s racing elite at the 24 Hours of Le Mans. Masterfully sculpted by legendary designer Phil Riehlman, the casting captures the GT-40’s famously low-slung, aerodynamically flat profile, preserving its deep-set front headlight recesses, sweeping mid-engine canopy deck, and distinct rear spoiler deck line. Dressed in its historic metallic gray base coat, this Track Aces release features a loud, era-authentic racing graphic scheme with red, white, blue, and black racing stripes stretching across the hood and roof panels. Complete with a bold racing number "9" on the doors and the classic, retro "Planet Hot Wheels" style Ace logo stamp on the roof panel, it radiates incredible early-2000s collector nostalgia. Whether you are anchoring a dedicated vintage race team collection wall, expanding an authentic retro paddock diorama layout, or looking for a premium desk companion steeped in legendary Ford performance history, this imported 2003 mainline drop is a vital crown jewel for classic car enthusiasts and Hot Wheels collectors alike. Why Collectors Love It The 2003 Track Aces variant of the Ford GT-40 is a prime priority target for collector hobbyists due to its unique track-engineered specifications. Originally developed with a lightweight plastic upper framework mated to a heavy, solid full-metal chassis, this casting was purposefully balanced with a hyper-low center of gravity to help it "stick" firmly to high-speed loop tracks and multi-lane stunt grids. Rolling seamlessly on classic high-speed 5SP (five-spoke) sport wheels, it catches display lighting beautifully and adds incredible vintage depth to any collection shelf or garage layout.
